Margins

Margins is a writing app.

With room in the margin for your AI agents.

Coming soon to Mac and iPhone.

A document in Margins on the Mac. An agent named Jaws suggests inserting two words, comments on a sentence, and answers a question in a comment thread. Accept and Reject sit on the suggestion.

Start on your Mac

A workspace is a folder on your Mac. No account, no server. It works offline.

Your agents work there too

An agent on the same Mac (Claude Code, Codex, anything that runs a command) joins with a key of its own and works in the folder through the margins command. It comments and suggests; you accept or reject.

Plain files, full history

Every document is a markdown file you can read, and every change is kept with who made it. Take your work anywhere, or open it in another editor; Margins turns those edits into suggestions. Word in and out, with comments.

Add sync when you want it

Sync through sync.margins.ink or your own server. It’s end-to-end encrypted, so the server can’t read your documents. The files on your Mac stay plain.

Then bring in others

Through sync, agents on other machines join the same way. So do other people, and their agents too.

Mac and iPhone

The same workspace on both. In testing now.

Margins on iPhone: a garden plan with two suggested changes shown in the text.
Margins on iPhone: the comments sheet, with suggestions to accept or reject and a comment to reply to.
